Introduction to Physical Theatre
An actor-devised theatre of spaces and places. Looking at the spaces and places around us, and how we place ourselves within them, we can create and change the story we tell. We create theatre that moves an audience with that clever, creative touch, that is so well known of Jaques Lecoq and his alumni worldwide.
The poetry of movement.
The following of impulse.
The taking of space.
The observation and re-creation of everyday people, places and things.
The course will provide:
An introduction to Lecoq based Physical Theatre with elements of:
- Personal sustainability for artists
- Contemplative Arts Practices
- Developing a Personal plan for an entrepreneurial revenue using ”Applied Physical Theatre”
Learning how to express ourselves physically, as we follow impulse, supports improvisation, helping actors confidently engage audiences, casting directors, and the camera.
